Elaine Murphy

Ever since her early years in Dublin, Ireland, Elaine Murphy has displayed a distinct affinity and passion for creative drawing and designing. While studying at the National Academy of Art, she won numerous special awards and much recognition, and was considered to be one of the school's most talented and accomplished students.

By the time she reached eighteen, Elaine already had established herself in the visual arts. At only nineteen, she so impressed the managing editor of Update magazine, because of her unique creative abilities, that she was given prestigious projects normally reserved only for senior staff members.

Elaine Murphy has a rare and diverse range of talent, and her work has evolved into a truly original and inimitable style.  Her current focus in painting is in two distinct areas, which she refers to as Abstract Figurative and Nouveau Deco Figurative. The abstract work is flowing and emotional in character, while the ‘nouveau’ work contains the tasteful combination of geometric designs and distinctively rendered figures that characterize classic works from the Art Deco era. Both of Murphy’s styles showcase her considerable abilities as a colorist and her innate sense of composition and design.
